Pro Terms of Service
Last updated: July 6, 2026
These Pro Terms ("Terms") govern your participation as a service provider ("Pro") on RepairAble (the "Platform"), operated by RepairAble ("we," "us," "our"). By submitting an application to join the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who you are
You are an independent business or sole proprietor that performs appliance repair services. You are applying to be matched with homeowners who have submitted repair requests through the Platform.
2. Independent contractor status
You are an independent contractor. You are not an employee, agent, partner, or joint venturer of RepairAble. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship.
You are solely responsible for:
- Your own federal, state, and local taxes, including self-employment taxes
- Your own business licenses, permits, and registrations required to perform appliance repair in your service area
- Your own tools, vehicle, equipment, and supplies
- Your own work schedule, methods, sequence of work, and the means by which repairs are performed
- Your own employees, subcontractors, helpers, or assistants (none of whom are employees of RepairAble)
- Your own workers' compensation, unemployment, and disability insurance to the extent required by law
- Compliance with all federal, state, and local laws applicable to your business and the services you provide
RepairAble does not direct or control how you perform repairs. RepairAble may share diagnostic information, recommended parts, and customer-provided context, but the final diagnosis and the work performed are your professional judgment alone.
2a. Your team on the Platform
You may add team members (for example, admins and technicians) to your account. Team members act under your account: you are responsible for what they do on the Platform, for keeping your roster current (remove people when they leave your business), and for ensuring they follow these Terms. Anything a team member does through your account is treated as done by you.
3. Insurance you must maintain
You must maintain, throughout your participation on the Platform:
- General liability insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate
- Any workers' compensation insurance required by law in your state
- Any vehicle insurance required by law in your state
You must provide a current Certificate of Insurance (COI) on application and promptly upon any renewal, change, cancellation, or non-renewal. If your insurance lapses, your account will be suspended.
4. Documents and verification
You authorize us to verify the documents you upload, including driver's license, insurance certificate, EPA Section 608 certification, and any trade or contractor license. You authorize us to share these documents with verification vendors as needed.
You represent that all documents and information you provide are true, current, and complete. You will promptly notify us of any change (lapsed insurance, expired license, etc.).
We retain the documents you upload only as long as needed:
- Documents from applications we do not approve are deleted within 30 days of the decision.
- Documents from approved pros are retained for the duration of your participation on the Platform and for 12 months after your departure (for audit purposes), then deleted, except where law requires longer retention.
We use these documents only for verifying your eligibility and managing your participation. We do not sell them, share them publicly, or use them for marketing or AI model training.
5. Background checks
You authorize us to conduct background checks on you, at our discretion, at the time of application and periodically thereafter for as long as you remain on the Platform. These checks may include criminal records, civil litigation history, sex-offender registry, professional license verification, and motor vehicle records.
Background checks are conducted in accordance with the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and applicable state laws. You may request a copy of any report obtained about you.
6. Job execution
When matched with a customer, you agree to:
- Contact the customer promptly to confirm or schedule the appointment
- Arrive within the scheduled window or notify the customer in advance if delayed
- Perform repairs using sound professional practices and any manufacturer-recommended procedures
- Apply the 50% rule: if the cost of repair exceeds 50% of the cost of replacement, recommend replacement rather than repair
- Confirm at the visit that the part used and the labor performed match what was quoted on the Platform, and flag any change to RepairAble before the invoice is finalized
- Confirm the job outcome at completion: whether the job was completed in one trip or required an additional trip, whether a repair happened at all, and which part was actually used (including corrections when it differs from what the Platform recommended)
- If the job requires an additional trip (for example, a return visit to install an ordered part), schedule it through the Platform so each visit is on record
- When you source a part for a Platform job, upload a photo of the receipt or order confirmation at completion so the part cost can be verified
- Treat the customer's home, family, and property with respect
You agree NOT to:
- Upsell parts or services not necessary to complete the diagnosed repair
- Recommend repairs that exceed the 50% rule without explicit customer acknowledgment
- Solicit customers off-platform once introduced through the Platform (during your participation and for 12 months after)
- Disparage the Platform to customers
- Share customer contact information with third parties for any purpose other than completing the job
7. Customer data
Customer contact information, addresses, appliance details, and any other information you receive through the Platform are confidential. You may use this information solely to perform the matched job. You may not retain, copy, sell, or share this information with any third party.
7a. Job records you submit
At job completion you submit outcome confirmations, part corrections, trip records, and receipt photos (together, "Job Records"). We use Job Records to verify part costs, keep invoices accurate, run your dashboard (including the recovery meter), and measure and improve the accuracy of the diagnostic engine. The following terms govern them:
- License. You grant RepairAble a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to store, reproduce, analyze, and use Job Records to operate, verify, improve, and develop the Platform and its diagnostic engine. To the extent a Job Record consists of facts about a job (which part was used, how many trips it took, whether the diagnosis was right), those facts as recorded on the Platform, and RepairAble's compilation of them, are RepairAble's property.
- Derived data. Aggregated, de-identified, or derived data created from Job Records — including diagnostic-accuracy statistics and improvements to the diagnostic engine — belongs exclusively to RepairAble.
- De-identification. Where we de-identify Job Records or derived data, we maintain it in de-identified form and do not attempt to re-identify it.
- Survival. This section survives termination of these Terms and the end of your participation, however it ends. No compensation is owed to you for RepairAble's use of Job Records.
- No extraction. You may not scrape, export, harvest, or systematically collect Platform data — including diagnostic outputs, outcome records, or pricing data — or use it to build, train, or improve any competing product, dataset, or model. Your own business records (your invoices, your books, and your relationship with customers you sourced yourself) remain yours.
- Honest reporting. You agree to report outcomes honestly. Submitting a false outcome (for example, marking a job complete-in-one-trip when it wasn't) is a violation of these Terms.
Receipt photos are stored in private storage readable only by our systems. They are not shown to the customer and not shared publicly. They are retained for 12 months after upload, then deleted. Upload only what's needed to verify the part purchase — crop out or omit anything unrelated.
7b. Customer data you bring to the Platform
The Platform includes tools for running your own business — importing your existing customer list, recording customers' appliances and job notes, scheduling, and sending your diagnostic link to your customers. For any customer data you bring to the Platform yourself (as opposed to data about customers RepairAble matched to you):
- It stays your customer relationship. We host and process imported contacts, notes, appliance records, and related data only to operate your tools on the Platform — matching imported records to bookings, showing you customer history, scheduling, and dispatch. We do not use your imported customer list to market to your customers, and we do not sell it.
- You are responsible for having the right to upload it. You represent that you lawfully hold the customer information you import and are permitted to bring it to the Platform.
- Invitation texts are sent at your direction. When you ask us to text your diagnostic link to a customer, you confirm the number belongs to your customer and that they have agreed to receive texts from your business. Recipients can opt out by replying STOP, and we honor that.
- De-identified improvement data derived from activity on the Platform is governed by Section 7a, the same as other Platform data.
8. Payments and fees
The Platform distinguishes between jobs we send you and jobs you bring yourself:
- RepairAble-sourced jobs — customers the Platform matched to you. The Platform operates on a prepaid wallet model: a flat platform fee is deducted from your wallet when a RepairAble-sourced job completes. The amount and any wallet-funding requirements are set out in your individual onboarding agreement with us. The fee is per job, not per visit — an additional trip on an existing job does not incur another fee.
- Jobs you source yourself — your own customers, including customers who start a diagnosis through your personal diagnostic link. No platform fee is deducted for these jobs.
For RepairAble-sourced jobs, all customer billing happens through the Platform. The customer's card is saved through Stripe at booking and charged at job completion. RepairAble invoices the customer for parts (billed at verified live cost) and labor (per the rate card disclosed to the customer at booking). You do not invoice the customer separately. Your role at the visit is to confirm that the part used and the labor performed match what was quoted, and to flag any change before the invoice is finalized. The full parts + labor amount collected from the customer is passed through to you via Stripe Connect on the payout schedule in your individual onboarding agreement; to receive payouts you must complete Stripe Connect onboarding.
For jobs you source yourself, you bill your customer directly, off the Platform. We do not stand between you and your own customer.
RepairAble does not take any percentage of your parts or labor revenue. The only money we collect from your side of a transaction is the flat platform fee on RepairAble-sourced jobs (plus the diagnostic license subscription below, if you have one). Payouts to you for the labor portion of completed RepairAble-sourced jobs are made on the schedule set out in your individual onboarding agreement.
Diagnostic license subscription (billing, cancellation, and refunds)
Separately from the prepaid wallet above, the diagnostic license is an optional paid subscription that unlocks your custom diagnostic link and tools. The following terms apply to that subscription:
- Billing. The license is billed in advance — monthly or annually, priced by your team size as shown at checkout before you pay. Your payment method is charged at purchase and automatically on each renewal until you cancel.
- 14-day money-back guarantee. If the license isn't right for you, cancel within 14 days of your initial purchase for a full refund, no questions asked. Email hello@tryrepairable.com or use the billing portal.
- Cancelling a monthly plan. You can cancel anytime. You won't be charged again, and your access continues through the end of the current billing month.
- Cancelling an annual plan. After the 14-day window, the annual plan is committed for the term you paid for. Cancelling turns off auto-renewal: you keep access through the end of the year you've paid for, and the plan will not renew. Annual fees are not prorated or refunded mid-term, except under the 14-day guarantee above.
- Self-serve. You can update your payment method, change plans, or cancel at any time from the billing portal in your Pro dashboard.
This subscription is independent of any matched-job booking fees; cancelling the license does not affect wallet balances or bookings already in progress.
After-hours voice reception (optional add-on)
The voice reception add-on is an optional paid feature of the diagnostic license: an AI agent answers calls forwarded from your after-hours line, answers in your business's name, runs the full diagnostic with the caller, and creates booking requests for you to confirm. If you subscribe to it:
- Billing. The add-on is billed as a flat monthly (or annual, matching your license interval) amount on your existing license subscription — one subscription, one invoice — tiered by answered-call volume as shown at checkout. There is no per-booking or per-minute fee.
- How the tiers count calls. Only engaged calls count toward your tier — a real diagnostic conversation, not robocalls, spam, or hang-ups. The agent never stops answering because you've reached your tier's cap; if you consistently exceed it, we'll contact you about moving to the next tier rather than billing per call.
- It requires an active diagnostic license. Cancelling the license cancels the add-on. You can manage or cancel the add-on any time from the billing portal; access continues through the period you've paid for.
- Calls are recorded. Every call begins with a notice that the call is recorded and uses AI. Recordings, transcripts, and retention are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. You authorize us to answer your forwarded calls in your business's name and to send follow-up texts and emails to callers on your behalf (the diagnosis, the Terms link, and booking updates).
- Bookings from calls are requests. You are responsible for confirming the appointment time with the customer, the same as any other booking request.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your participation at any time, with or without cause, including but not limited to:
- Insurance lapse, license lapse, or document expiration
- Customer complaints, low ratings, or evidence of poor workmanship
- Misrepresentation on your application
- Violation of these Terms
- A failing background check or new disqualifying information
You may terminate your participation at any time by notifying us in writing. Wallet balances remaining after termination will be refunded, less any outstanding obligations.
10. Indemnification
You will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RepairAble, its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your performance or non-performance of repair services
- Any property damage, personal injury, or death caused by you or your employees, subcontractors, or assistants
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or third-party right
- Any misrepresentation in your application or documents
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RepairAble's total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total fees you have paid to RepairAble in the 12 months preceding the claim.
In no event shall RepairAble be liable for indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost business opportunities.
12. Mediation and arbitration
If a dispute arises between you and RepairAble, the parties will first attempt to resolve it through good-faith negotiation. If that fails, the parties will participate in non-binding mediation with a mutually agreed mediator before filing any claim.
If mediation does not resolve the dispute within 60 days, the dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be held in Travis County, Texas. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
You and RepairAble each waive any right to a jury trial and any right to participate in a class action against the other.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to the arbitration clause above, exclusive jurisdiction for any dispute lies in the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
14. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms, or your account, to anyone else without our written consent. We may assign these Terms — and transfer the data and Job Records licensed to us under Section 7a — to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business. These Terms bind and benefit each party's permitted successors and assigns.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you and require your re-acceptance before you accept new jobs through the Platform.
