Terms of Service
Effective date: July 6, 2026
These terms cover your use of RepairAble. They're written plainly so you can actually read them. By using the site, you agree to them.
If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
If you're a repair pro on the platform, the Pro Terms of Service also apply to you.
Who we are
RepairAble is operated by RepairMe.ai LLC in Texas, USA. You can reach us at hello@tryrepairable.com.
RepairAble was formerly called RepairMe.ai. Our site lives at tryrepairable.com; the old domain (repairme.ai) permanently redirects here.
What the service does
RepairAble helps you figure out what's wrong with a home appliance and, if you want, books a local repair pro to fix it. You answer a few questions about the appliance, our AI returns a likely cause and a recommended part, and we either match you with one of our vetted pros or surface a list of nearby repair businesses.
Your account
You can use the diagnostic tool without an account. To book a repair pro, you sign in by entering your email and verifying a 6-digit code we email you, or by signing in with your Google account. Either way, there's no password to manage.
You're responsible for the accuracy of what you give us — your appliance details, your address, your phone number. The repair pro is going to use that information to show up at your house.
Pro diagnostic links
Some repair pros share a personal RepairAble link (it looks like tryrepairable.com/d/their-name). If you start a diagnosis through a pro's link:
- Your diagnostic session is credited to that pro, and we show you a banner with their name so you know whose link you're on.
- If you book, that pro is the one matched to your job, and they can see the diagnostic session that came from their link.
- The diagnosis itself is the same tool with the same engine — a pro's link doesn't change the answer you get.
The diagnostic tool — what it is and isn't
The AI diagnosis is a starting point, not a guarantee. We tell you what the most likely cause is and how confident we are, but appliance problems are sometimes more complicated than they look. Do not attempt repairs you're not comfortable with, especially anything involving gas, microwaves, high-voltage components, or sealed refrigerant systems. If our tool detects a possible gas leak, we'll tell you to stop and call your gas utility — please follow that guidance.
If you choose to attempt a repair yourself based on our suggestions, you do so at your own risk. We're not liable for damage to your appliance, your home, or yourself from a DIY attempt.
Improving the platform
When you use RepairAble, you give us information about your appliance and its problem, and our AI-native platform returns results — a likely diagnosis, a recommended part, repair-vs-replace guidance, and related output. You grant RepairAble a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to store, analyze, and use that information and the results we generate to operate, improve, and develop the platform and its AI.
We do this using de-identified data: before this information is used to improve or train the platform, we remove the details that identify you — your name, address, phone, and email. Any aggregated, de-identified, or derived data we create this way — including diagnostic-accuracy statistics and improvements to the platform — belongs to RepairAble. This ownership, and our right to keep and use that de-identified data, continues even if you later delete your account.
Booking a repair pro
When you book through us:
- You're booking time with an independent repair pro, not with RepairAble. We're the platform that connects you.
- The pro is responsible for the work. They carry their own insurance and licensing where applicable.
- We share your name, email, phone, address, upcoming availability, and what you're trying to fix with the matched pro so they can do the job.
- The pricing shown at booking is an estimate based on the suggested part and typical labor for the repair. The final price is confirmed when the pro arrives and confirms the diagnosis & repair plan of the appliance in person.
- If you're booking a RepairAble-matched pro, we save your card (through Stripe) when you book, but we don't charge it then. You're charged after the job is done — and if the on-site diagnosis changed the price, only after you've approved the revised quote. See "Pricing and payment" below.
- If you're booking through a pro's personal link (you're their own customer), we don't take a card. You pay your pro directly, the way you always have.
- Some jobs take more than one visit — for example, a first visit to confirm the diagnosis and a second to install a part that had to be ordered. When that happens, the pro schedules the additional trip and we keep a record of each visit. An additional trip on the same job is part of the same booking, not a new one.
- After the job, your pro confirms with us how it went — whether the recommended part and fix were right and whether it was done in one trip. We use those records to make the diagnostic engine more accurate.
- Cancellations require at least 24 hours' notice before your slot. After that, we treat the slot as committed and the pro's time as reserved for you.
Booking by phone (the after-hours AI receptionist)
Some repair shops forward their after-hours calls to an AI phone receptionist that we operate. If you call a participating shop and reach the agent:
- The agent tells you, at the start of the call, that the call is recorded and uses AI.
- The agent runs the same diagnostic tool described above — everything in "The diagnostic tool — what it is and isn't" applies to a phone diagnosis too.
- A phone booking is a booking request, not a confirmed appointment. The shop confirms the actual time with you afterward.
- No payment is taken on the call.
- If you tell the agent to go ahead with the booking request, you're agreeing to these Terms — the agent says so before you confirm, and right after the call we text and/or email you a link to these Terms along with your full diagnosis. Your recorded "yes" counts as your electronic signature.
- If you'd rather not agree on the phone, nothing is booked and nothing is charged. We'll still send you the Terms link and your diagnosis so you can read them and call back whenever you're ready.
Local listings outside our coverage area
Sometimes you'll use our diagnostic tool from a place where we don't yet have a vetted RepairAble pro. When that happens, rather than leave you stranded, we show a short list of nearby repair businesses pulled from public Google listings, filtered to surface better-reviewed options.
These listings are completely different from our vetted pros, and the difference matters:
- We have no relationship with them. They are independent businesses. We don't employ, partner with, endorse, represent, or recommend them, and they don't represent us. A business appearing here does not mean it is affiliated with, vetted by, or approved by RepairAble.
- We don't vet them. We don't check their licensing, insurance, background, or qualifications, and we don't independently verify the rating or reviews shown. Those ratings come from Google, not from us — we can't vouch for their accuracy or for the quality, safety, or conduct of any listed business.
- You choose and deal with them directly. If you contact one of these businesses, you do so on your own judgment. Any agreement, scheduling, pricing, payment, and work is strictly between you and that business. RepairAble is not a party to it, does not arrange the booking, and does not handle payment. Mentioning RepairAble or sharing your diagnosis with them does not create any relationship between them and us, or make us responsible for them.
- You engage them at your own risk. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REPAIRABLE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANYTHING ARISING OUT OF YOUR DEALINGS WITH THESE BUSINESSES — INCLUDING THEIR WORK, CONDUCT, PRICING, LICENSING, INSURANCE, SAFETY, FAILURE TO SHOW, OR ANY RESULTING DAMAGE, LOSS, OR INJURY — AND YOU RELEASE REPAIRABLE FROM ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THOSE DEALINGS.
Our diagnostic tool's role doesn't change here: it remains a starting point, not a guarantee (see "The diagnostic tool — what it is and isn't" above). We surface these listings purely as a convenience to help you find someone local.
SMS notifications
Program name: RepairAble SMS Notifications.
Program description: When you book a repair through RepairAble, we use SMS to keep you informed about your appointment. Messages may include booking confirmations, appointment reminders, on-the-way notifications from your pro, updates if a slot or part delivery changes, a link to approve a revised quote if the pro's on-site diagnosis changes the price, and a job-complete follow-up. If you book by phone through the after-hours receptionist, your full diagnosis and a link to these Terms also arrive by text. We also send SMS to your matched repair pro and to our internal operations team so they can confirm and run the booking. Separately, if your repair shop asks us to, we may send you a one-time text with the shop's diagnostic link — that message is sent at your shop's request.
Consent: You consent to these messages by checking the SMS box at checkout — it's optional and unchecked by default; if you leave it unchecked we'll use email instead — or, on a phone booking, by saying yes when the agent asks whether it can text you. Consent is never a condition of booking. We don't send marketing texts.
Message frequency: Recurring, but tied to your bookings — typically 1 to 4 messages per booking. We don't send marketing texts.
Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Check with your carrier.
Carriers: Carriers (including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How to get help: Reply HELP to any message for help, or email us at hello@tryrepairable.com.
How to opt out: Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. You will receive one final confirmation that you've been unsubscribed and won't receive further texts. To re-enroll, book a new repair or email us.
Privacy: Your mobile number and SMS information are used only to operate this program. We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your mobile information to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Pricing and payment
The price shown at booking is an estimate. The pro will confirm the final price in person before doing the work, based on the actual diagnosis and the part required. If the on-site diagnosis changes the price, we'll send you the revised quote to approve before the work proceeds.
Parts are billed at the verified cost of the part — we don't mark up parts.
How payment works for RepairAble-matched bookings:
- When you book, we collect your card through Stripe and save it. Nothing is charged at booking.
- Your card is charged after the job is complete — for the parts (at verified cost) and labor that were quoted, or the revised quote you approved.
- Stripe processes the payment. We never see or store your full card number.
- If something about a charge looks wrong, email us at hello@tryrepairable.com and we'll sort it out. Refunds, when owed, go back to the card that was charged.
Bookings through a pro's personal link work the old-fashioned way: we don't take a card, and you pay your pro directly at the time of service.
(Repair pros who subscribe to our diagnostic license pay through Stripe too — that's covered in the Pro Terms.)
Affiliate disclosure
When we recommend a replacement part, the link usually goes to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, RepairAble earns from qualifying purchases made through those links. This costs you nothing extra — the price is the same as if you'd found the part yourself — and our part recommendation is driven by the diagnosis, not by the commission. When Amazon doesn't carry a part, we link to other suppliers instead.
Acceptable use
Don't use the site to:
- Submit fake or misleading diagnostic information.
- Try to overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or otherwise mess with the system.
- Pretend to be someone else.
- Use the service for anything illegal.
We can suspend or terminate access to anyone who breaks these rules.
Your responsibilities to us
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RepairAble (RepairMe.ai LLC), its owners, and its team from any claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal costs (including attorneys' fees) arising out of: (a) information you give us that is false or inaccurate; (b) your violation of these terms or of any law; (c) your misuse of the site; or (d) your dealings with any repair pro or any local business listed through the site.
Things we don't promise
The site is provided "as is." We try hard to be accurate and useful, but:
- We don't guarantee the diagnosis is correct.
- We don't guarantee a repair pro will accept every booking, or that the pro will arrive at the exact slot you picked.
- We don't guarantee the price you'll pay matches the estimate. The pro confirms in person.
- We don't guarantee the site will always be available.
To the extent the law allows, RepairAble is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from your use of the site.
In any case, to the fullest extent permitted by law, RepairAble's total liability to you for any claim relating to the site or these terms will not exceed USD $100. Some states don't allow certain limitations or exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Resolving disputes
Let's try to work it out first. If you have a problem, email hello@tryrepairable.com with a short description and what you'd like us to do. We'll do the same if we have a problem with you. Most things get resolved this way — please give it 60 days before starting any formal legal proceeding.
If we still can't resolve it, the claim goes to the courts described in "The law that applies" below. Either of us may also bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies.
The law that applies
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or your use of RepairAble, are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Except for claims that qualify for small-claims court, you agree that any legal action must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
A few final points
- If part of this doesn't hold up: If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stay in full effect, and the unenforceable provision is limited only as much as necessary to make it enforceable.
- The whole agreement: These terms, together with the Privacy Policy (and, for repair pros, the Pro Terms of Service), are the entire agreement between you and RepairAble about the site, and replace any earlier understanding.
- No waiver: If we don't enforce part of these terms right away, that doesn't mean we've given it up.
- Transfers: You may not assign these terms to anyone else. We may assign them to a successor — for example, if the business is acquired.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "effective date" at the top will tell you when. If a change matters a lot, we'll do our best to flag it more visibly than just bumping the date.
How to contact us
Email hello@tryrepairable.com. That's the fastest way to reach a real person.
What this document doesn't do
This is a plain-English description of how a small business operates. It is not legal advice. We are not your lawyer. If you have questions about your rights, the right person to ask is a lawyer in your state — not us.
